February 2006 - PCB Pad Repair Enhanced:  Nu Signal has new PCB pad rebuilding technology.  Pads that are worn through to the copper substrate can now be fully restored.  (Pads are often damaged at the spring probe/board interface due to abrasive wear).

 

History:

Nu Signal was founded as a result of accelerated socket failures occurring in the Semi industry (primarily due to the increased usage of BGA devices).  Nu Signal assembled a team of PhD's and Engineers to address the problems associated with socket failure as a result of solder contamination.  This team developed a non-abrasive, cleaning and re-plating process that is based on advanced electro-chemical technology. 

 

This proprietary decontamination process removes solder and solder oxides, while re-building the damaged contact plating.  This results in sockets and contacts that perform on par with new products.  In fact, restored products often outperform new products.

 

Nu Signal works with many of the largest Semiconductor manufacturers throughout the world, and has presented technical papers on the subject for colleagues in the industry.
